Eligibility Requirements for Buzzsprout Ads

Buzzsprout Ads gives you the ability to monetize your podcast by accepting podcast ads into your episodes! To enable Buzzsprout Ads, your podcast will need to meet a few requirements. You can check your eligibility for Buzzsprout Ads at any time by going to Monetization > Buzzsprout Ads in your account.

To use Buzzsprout Ads to monetize your show you must meet these requirements.

Hosted on Buzzsprout
Enabling Buzzsprout Ads allows Buzzsprout to run podcast promos in your episodes. In order for us to access your episodes to place these promos, your show will need to be hosted here on Buzzsprout!

On a Paid Plan
The Buzzsprout Ads feature is limited to podcasts currently on one of our paid plans

Verify Your User Email 
When you set up your account with Buzzsprout, you will be asked to verify your email address. This step will need to be completed in order to qualify for Buzzsprout Ads. We will use your email to notify you of new ad opportunities! 

Three Podcast Categories
Buzzsprout Ads will share ad opportunities for your podcast based on the categories in your RSS Feed. So you will have to select three categories for your show on the Podcast Info page in your Buzzsprout account.

Five Published Episodes
Before you enable Buzzsprout Ads, you will need at least 5 published episodes that are at least 23 minutes long. 

Episodes at Least 23 Minutes
Buzzsprout Ads uses multiple techniques to find high-quality ad breaks in episodes, so your episode length plays a role. To find the best placements, your episodes must be at least 23 minutes long. As you upload more episodes, the majority of your 25 most recent episodes must be at least 23 minutes.

Note: If one or more high-quality breakpoints cannot be identified with an episode, that episode may not be ad-eligible regardless of length.

1,000 Downloads in 30 Days
We use this guideline to be sure that anyone accepting ad opportunities gets enough downloads each month to make the payout worthwhile for the podcaster. This also makes the audience exposure worthwhile for the advertiser! Once your podcast reaches 1,000 downloads within a 30-day period you will be able to enable Buzzsprout Ads!

Note: This will change daily as your 30-day window changes. It could go up and down from day to day. We recommend checking your stats daily until you hit the mark!
